Composite Mesh – What Are Their Applications in Construction?
What Are GRP Composite Meshes?
GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) composite meshes are reinforcement materials made from glass fibers embedded in an epoxy resin-based polymer matrix. The production process, known as pultrusion, continuously forms the fibers into a parallel structure, resulting in exceptional tensile strength and durability—greater than traditional steel.
TROKOTEX is the only factory in Poland with full CE certification for GRP mesh production.
Why Do Investors Choose Composite Mesh?
TROKOTEX composite meshes are more cost-effective to produce and distribute compared to conventional steel reinforcement. This is due to a fully automated manufacturing system. The lower production costs translate to real savings for investors.
Additionally, composite meshes are completely corrosion-resistant, eliminating problems with reinforcement degradation caused by weather or chemicals. As a result, structures reinforced with composite mesh are long-lasting and require less maintenance than those reinforced with steel.
Other Key Advantages:
-
9× lighter than steel, making transport and installation much easier
-
Reduces overall load on structures, crucial for multi-story buildings
-
Excellent bonding with concrete for stability and strength
-
Suitable for a wide range of structures, not just concrete
-
Ready-to-use without any protective coatings or corrosion prevention
-
Non-conductive, making them a much safer alternative to steel
